A man caught in possession of 20 high-powered rifles which had been stolen in County Tipperary has escaped jail.
The weapons were among forty-two rifles, shotguns and handguns which had been stolen from firearms dealer and gunsmith, Tonnie Keevan at Cregg House near Carrick-on-Suir in January of 2009.

Gardai believe some of the guns were later sold to the infamous McCarthy – Dundon gang in Limerick.
Paul Moloney of Brosna, Birr, County Offaly was handed down a five year suspended sentence at Nenagh Circuit Criminal Court.
The 38 year old – who is originally from Roscrea – was arrested in October 2009 and later charged with handling stolen property at an empty house in Beechwood, Nenagh.
