Strong Tipperary support for text-based community alert scheme

71 per cent of homeowners in Tipperary say they would join a text-based community alert system in their area.

But only 30 per cent of people in the Premier County who were questioned as part of new research would be willing to set such a system up.

A new survey from the AA shows fear of burglary and anti-social behaviour is on the minds of homeowners' nationwide.

One of the biggest things that puts people off setting up neighbourhood watch schemes is the fear of being viewed as a busy body.
