In a statement this afternoon, Fianna Fail says their party Whip received a letter from Stephen Donnelly applying to join the Parliamentary Party and the application was discussed at this morning's meeting and his admission was approved unanimously.
Fianna Fáil Party Leader Micheál Martin says Stephen has made a serious impact nationally in his time as a TD, and he will be a strong addition to their organisation.
Donnelly co-founded the Social Democrats in July 2015 but resigned from the fledgling party last September.
