Stalemate in Northern talks.

It may be 2014 before negotiations on contentious issues in the North can be revisited.

All party political talks, chaired by former US diplomat Richard Haass, surrounding disputes over flags, parades and the legacy of the Troubles ended early this morning in stalemate.

Indications suggest talks may resume on December 27th but it's not yet clear if all parties will be ready to return to table.
