The promised reopening of beds at the Community Hospital of the Assumption in Thurles is now a step closer.
Independent T.D. Michael Lowry has received confirmation from the HSE that the procedure for recruitment of permanent staff is now completed.

The additional staff have received notification of their appointments.
This will allow for the re-opening of the beds as promised in the Service Plan.
Deputy Lowry complimented the existing staff and management for how they coped under extreme pressure and difficult working circumstances since the respite beds were reduced last year.
