The 70 year old Presentation Sister died along with her friend and colleague Sr Imelda Carew in a drowning tragedy in Kerry last week.
President Michael D. Higgins was represented by his Aide de Camp Colonel Brendan McAndrew while Archbishop Dermot Clifford and Bishop Martin Drennan were among the more than 40 priests who concelebrated today's mass.
Many of the Camas native's Presentation Order colleagues were present for the funeral in the Church of Saint John the Baptist along with a number of other religious orders.
In his homily chief celebrant Father Joe Egan said Sr Paula belonged to two families – her own blood family as well as the Presentation family both of whom are now in mourning.
The funeral cortège passed the Sister's old home at Camas Bridge outside Cashel before she was laid to rest at Ardmayle Cemetery, Boherlahan.
