South Tipperary Deputy Mattie McGrath is the only TD to oppose the children’s referendum.

In a public post on his Facebook page, the Independent TD claims the proposed constitutional amendment undermines the family.
The referendum has the support of all parties in Leinster House but Mattie McGrath feels rather than wasting resources on a referendum, more resources should be allocated to support and protect vulnerable children and their parents.
Deputy McGrath says passing a referendum will not give us more resources but will just give more power to the State, the courts and their agents. He says he will be voting No in Saturday's referendum.
