South Tipp General appeal for people only to attend for genuine emergency.

Management at South Tipp General Hospital have asked that people only attend in the case of a genuine emergency.

The Emergency Department at the facility is currently experiencing major overcrowding.

Management is asking members of the public to only attend in the case of a genuine emergency.

They are advising that, where possible, a GP or Caredoc out of hours service be consulted in the first instance.

They also say they are working to prioritise the discharge of patients as soon as possible where appropriate.
