Socialite’s property to go on sale

Personal property belonging to two socialites will be sold by Mealy's Auctioneers at the end of the month.

The contents of the home of the late jeweller and socialite Matty Ryan, Liberty Square, Thurles, who died two years ago, are to be be auctioned on the instructions of the representatives of the estate.

Mr Ryan was a friend of the late Princess Margaret and a walnut card table by her son David Linley is included in the auction. It carries an estimate of €1,000 to €1,500.

Also in the fine and decorative arts sale on May 29-30 are items from the Ranelagh home of socialite Mafra O'Reilly.Poilin Ni Riain
