Skin cancer is at a record high in Ireland.

Cases of melanoma have almost trebled in the last 20 years, with latest figures showing that in 2014 over one thousand people were diagnosed.

Ireland has the highest rate of deaths in Europe from aggressive skin cancer, but new treatment options are coming on stream for patients.

The Irish Cancer society is holding a series of public talks to advise people on how best to prevent the disease.
