An advertising sign for a pub and restaurant in North Tipp has been ruled out of order.
A planning application was lodged with the county council for retention of the road side sign in a field adjacent to the N52 at Shesheraghmore, Borrisokane.
It was promoting The Green 1919 – a local pub and restaurant in the area.
Retention has been refused by Tipperary County Council on a number of grounds including the existing signage in the vicinity and its proximity to a speed limit sign.
It was felt granting permission could lead to the proliferation of signage in the area, which would represent an unacceptable visual intrusion and cause distraction to motorists.
