Shatter to be briefed by GSOC

The Communications Minister says no-one should jump to conclusions after it was claimed the offices of the Garda Ombudsman were bugged.

Pat Rabbitte's described the claims as somewhat sinister and says it's unusual the matter wasn't reported to the Justice Minister – as is required by law.

Alan Shatter will meet with GSOC later and is to brief the Cabinet on the matter tomorrow morning.

Minister Rabbitte says a full explanation of what happened is required.
