Gardaí are appealing for the publics help in tracing a group of men involved in this serious assault and robbery in Clonmel.
The 35 year old victim was walking home sometime between 1.40 and 2am on Sunday morning when he was confronted by three men on Thomas Street.
They assaulted the man and took his phone and money.
The victim suffered serious injuries in the attack and was taken to South Tipp General Hospital – he has since been transferred to University Hospital Cork for further treatment.
Gardaí have viewed CCTV from the area and say a number of cars passed by at the time of the incident – they are appealing for these drivers to come forward with any information.
They are also anxious to hear from anyone who may have seen a group of men in the Thomas Street area of Clonmel early yesterday morning to contact them on 052 6177640 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
