The GAA are trying to convince concert promoters to consider stage a major music concert at the Thurles location, following huge public support for the campaign.
Semple Stadium held a series of gigs back in the 1980's and 90's but there hasn't been a concert there since.

Thurles Independent TD Michael Lowry was involved in the Féile concerts, he says that the stadium is well capable of catering to a headline act.
