Scientists Invited To Submit Views On Pylon Effects

Eirgrid's proposed GridLink project is considering two possible routes through South Tipperary which would involve the erection of 45 meter high pylons through the county.

A recent EU study failed to find any evidence of a major health threat to humans from high voltage power lines…however, it conceded that further research would be needed in this area.

Fine Gael MEP Mairead McGuinness says that Commissioner Borg is keen that people submit written comments and relevant research to the Scientific Committee by the sixteenth of April.
