Rural communities across Tipperary are anxious about the cuts, which will lead to the loss of teachers or even the shutting down of schools which have fewer than 50 pupils.

South Tipp Independent Deputy Mattie McGrath is holding a public meeting on the issue in Ballykisteen Hotel near Tipp town this coming Thursday.
