Scheme for local road repairs to be re-introduced

The Community Involvement Scheme has proven successful in the past with works typically being carried out on cul-de-sacs or roads which have low traffic volumes.

Tipperary County Council proposed to allocate funding once residents contribute 15% of the cost of the works.

Mayor of the Clonmel – Cahir Borough District Martin Lonergan says the roads where these works are carried out would not normally be high on the Councils list of priorities.
