Rural Tipp being used by drug dealers to evade detection

It’s claimed rural parts of Tipperary are being used by as drop-off points by drug dealers.

The issue was raised during a debate on rural crime at this months meeting of the Nenagh Municipal District.

There were calls for a CCTV system to be installed in Borrisokane in a bid to tackle the problem as the town is on two national routes – the N65 and N52 – making it accessible for roving criminal gangs.

Councillor Seamie Morris says drug dealers are now using rural parts of the county to avoid being observed by Gardaí.
