These latest plans to come before Tipperary County Council were for a craft brewery in Fortmoy House at Aglish near Roscrea.
In recent days the local authority has granted planning permission to Ruaidhri Deasy for the project – the works will entail the change of use of an existing agricultural outbuilding to what is described as a small scale micro-brewery.
The maximum output would be 1,000 litres of alcohol per week in bottles and kegs. When up and running the business will employ 1 or 2 people.
The Premier County already has an award winning beer and stout producer in the shape of the White Gypsy Brewery in Templemore
Planning permission was granted last year for another micro brewery at the Old Temperance Hall in Roscrea while the green light was also given for a boutique distillery near Grange in South Tipp.
