The Rock of Cashel will be lit up blood-red tonight.
It’s for World Blood Donor Day which is helf on the 14th of June every year.
The Irish Blood Transfusion Service is joining the World Health Organisation and other Blood Services around the globe to celebrate and thank voluntary blood donors for their life-saving donations and to raise awareness of the constant need for blood donors.
Over 70,000 donors gave blood in Ireland over the past 12 months.
The IBTS needs to collect 3,000 donations a week to maintain the national blood supply.
More than 30 iconic buildings and landmark sites across Ireland are going red today to mark the occasion.
