Upgrade works are starting this morning on the N75 in Thurles

It spans from Liberty Square to the Anner Hotel and is estimated to take four months.

It will include road resurfacing, pavement refurbishment, upgrades to pedestrian crossings, kerb buildouts and more.

Cllr Micheál Lowry explained what’s being done.

“The scheme will start at the junction of Cathedral Street and Mitchell Street and it heads out towards the Anner Hotel for about 1,200 metres.

The scheme will include footpath rehabilitation, road resurfacing, kerb buildouts, they want to deal with some localised flooding issues and traffic calming measures will then be implemented as part of the works.”
