Motorists travelling between Borrisoleigh and Nenagh are facing severe diversions for the rest of the week.
Tipperary County Council has been forced to put an emergency road closure in place to carry out essential maintenance works on the R498 at Latteragh.

It's the latest in a series of problems encountered on this stretch of road which has been badly hit by subsidence in recent years.
Director of Road Services Marcus O'Connor says they have been left with no option but to shut the road.
