Tipperary gardaí are warning motorists that officers will be out and about over the Bank Holiday clamping down on dangerous driver behaviour.

Increased checkpoints will be set up right across the Premier with gardaí on the lookout for drunk and drugged drivers, speeding, the non wearing of seat belts as well as illegal mobile phone usage.

People heading to the pub for the weekend are being told to leave the car at home while those who have had a heavy night’s drinking are being urged not to take to the road the following morning.

Bank Holidays are a traditionally more dangerous time on the roads due to increased traffic and Gardaí is calling on Tipp motorists to use a little extra common sense to ensure their Easter doesn’t turn to tragedy.
