A man in his 50s has died after a crash near the Tipp border in County Offaly.
It happened on the N62 near Cloghan shortly after 11 o’clock last night when the pedestrian was hit by a car.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are currently carrying out a technical examination of the scene and the road remains closed.
Local diversions are in place and motorists, particularly the drivers of heavy goods vehicles, are asked to travel via Tullamore, Co. Offaly.
