Large turnout at Tipp Bridge Protest

There are major concerns that one of the biggest businesses in Ardfinnan may be forced to relocate.

Locals in the village are up in arms over the decision by Tipperary County Council to impose a one-way system on the bridge over the Suir.

Large numbers turned up for a protest there this afternoon.

Among the concerns residents and businesses in the area have is the danger posed by the build up of traffic at the lights.

The one-way system is causing major problems for Brett Brothers who use their branch near the bridge as the main intake point for the harvest in Tipperary.

Chairman of the Ardfinnan Community council Thomas O’Mahoney says this has led to fears the company may decide to move.
