The lifeboat organisation rescued over 12 hundred people in 2015.
The charity’s volunteer lifeboat crew are on call in all weathers at the 45 lifeboat stations around the Irish coast and on inland waters, including Lough Derg RNLI who are based at Dromineer.
Howth Lifeboat station was the busiest with 60 launches, followed by Clifden with 49 missions.
The Lough Ree inshore lifeboat rescued 130 people – the largest number of any of the RNLI crews.
The group says its missions range from the recovery of people drowned at sea, to stranded vessels – and even pets who've gone overboard.
Owen Medland of the RNLI says people who go out on the water should always think of safety first.
