Rising leader to lie in state today

Thomas Kent's remains were removed from Cork Prison in June and formally identified after DNA testing.

He died in May 1916 in Cork, one of two leaders killed outside of Dublin. Cork's Kent station is named after him.

His remains are due to arrive at Collins Barrack at around quarter to four this evening, while members of his family will attend from half past five.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny will deliver a graveside oration for Thomas Kent tomorrow, after Requiem Mass in Castlelyons.
