Rescuers delivering aid to earthquake survivors in Pakistan, Afghanistan

The 7.5 magnitude tremor is now known to have killed more than 300 people.

Thousands have been forced to spend the night outside in freezing conditions, fearing aftershocks.

Shaheen Chughtai from Oxfam says it could be some time before the full effects of the quake are known.

“This region, the affected region, it's a very mountainous region (with) mountain ranges branching off from the Himalayas” he said.

“And there are thousands of villages and informal settlements across that region, often connected to the outside world with just a single, dirt-track road” he added.
