The 67 year old pilot, who was the only one on board, was killed when his aircraft crashed into a field at Garrenbaun while en route to Shannon from Waterford airport.
An engine fire had been reported before it crashed and investigators say there was evidence of a significant fire at the main site on the ground.

The wreckage is still being examined and investigators are working to identify what caused the fire.
