The multi million euro conference is set to take place in Portugal in 2016.
Last month Paddy Cosgrave announced that for the first time the 2016 Web Summit would take place outside of Ireland.
The event which attracts thousands of people had been plagued with issues over WIFI connectivity and traffic management around the RDS.
Cosgrave then went on to release emails detailing correspondence between the company and the Department of the Taoiseach claiming it showed Government inaction on keeping the web summit in Ireland.
In a bid to find out what exactly happened, Dublin City Councillors asked for a full report into the issue – which they are set to receive today.
It's expected to find that Dublin needs a co-ordinating body to oversee major events such as the web summit and big concerts like the controversially cancelled Garth Brooks gigs.
Paddy Cosgrave is due to discuss the findings with councillors and the local authority executive next month.
