A Tipperary T.D. is again calling on the Minister for Health to fill vacant registrar posts at South Tipperary General Hospital.
With the deadline for applications on Monday next, Independent T.D. Mattie McGrath says the hospital and regional management seem to be unable to recruit staff for these positions.
There are five out of seven registrar posts vacant at the moment and Deputy McGrath is demanding that these posts are filled, even on a temporary basis.
While he is complimenting the existing staff for their handling of the increased workload, he points to the number of patients being treated on trolleys as clear evidence of the need to fill the vacant positions at this hospital.
