Renewed calls for Suicide Prevention Officer in Tipperary

Representatives of the HSE briefed elected representatives on the executives suicide prevention strategy at this months meeting of the County Council.

They highlighted the services available across the county for those concerned about suicide.

Sinn Féin Councillor David Doran has long campaigned for a dedicated Suicide Prevention officer for the County.

He says the figures revealed at the meeting make for stark reading with 22 people dying by suicide in Tipperary each year.
