Relatively quiet summer for Loughderg Lifeboat.

The Loughderg Inshore Lifeboat dealt with 50% fewer call outs this summer compared to 2012.

While nationally the the RNLI's volunteer lifeboat crews dealt with a 43% increase on the previous summer, the Lough Derg crew had a relatively quiet summer.

Nationally lifeboats launched 571 time this summer while Lough Derg dealt with five call-outs.

This compares with 10 emergency responses on Lough Derg in 2012.

The Dromineer based unit was set up in 2004 and was the first inland station in the Republic.
