Up to fifty million euro is being invested in Carrick on Suir for various projects as part of the regeneration of the town.
It’s part of efforts to improve and enhance the town with the aim of attracting more people and more employment.
Speaking to Tipp FM, Director of Services with Tipperary County Council Brian Beck says the investment in Carrick will result in growth:
“I think Carrick-on-Suir” is a wonderful town, with wonderful communities and
really, really strong businesses.
“It has a great future and I think this investment will only help to achieve that growth more quickly than otherwise would have happened.”
Meanwhile, a new tourism and community initiative to boost tourism in Carrick-on-Suir is being launched today.
Explore Carrick-on-Suir will showcase the rich heritage, vibrant culture, and strong community spirit of the south Tipperary town and its Hinterlands.
There’s events on all day focusing on the blueway, the local GAA club at Davin Park, Ormonde Castle and the Clancey Brothers.
You can even hire a bike for free to explore.
