Rapid response measure to take time, says GRA President

The measure's aimed at bringing an end to the escalating Kinahan-Hutch feud – which has led to the deaths of seven people. 

Investigations are continuing into the latest incident – the gunning down of Gareth Hutch in the city centre on Tuesday.

GRA President Ciarán O'Neill says more Gardaí are needed in the capital.

Meanwhile, Gardaí will tell the Justice Minister she needs to hire more new recruits when they talk to her later today.

It's the first meeting between Frances Fitzgerald and the middle-ranking Garda group, the GRA, since the formation of the new Government.

Resources, gangland feuds and pay restoration are all likely to be included on the agenda.
