Bus Éireann is being accused of not taking the needs of people in Carrick on Suir on board when considering changes to their service.

The company currently provide a link from Carrick to Dublin via Kilkenny – however they intend to bypass Kilsheelan and Carrick and go directly from Clonmel.

A protest is planned at the Bus Station in Waterford on Valentines Day at 3 o'clock.

Local resident Kathleen Fahey says her sister Sinead – who has special needs – will suffer greatly because of Bus Eireann’s plans.

Sinead has been using the bus to get from Carrick to the Camphill facilities in Callan for 24 years – Kathleen says losing the service would have huge implications for her sister.
