A Tipperary TD will today experience first hand the difficulties faced by wheelchair users in Clonmel.
Rehab, which provides services for people with disabilities across the country, say that they have been campaigning for the local authority to address a number of hazards in the town such as uneven surfaces on footpaths, differing heights on paths and the lack of verges at crossing points.
As part of their efforts, local Independent TD Mattie McGrath will be put into a wheelchair this afternoon to allow for able-bodied people to see the accessibility issues around Clonmel.
Niamh Corbett from Rehab Clonmel says there are particular parts of the town that cause problems for wheelchair users such as the public swimming pool area.
