Principles want resources for Junior Cert reform

The National Association of Principals and Deputy Principals says there was no additional funding for this announced in the Budget despite the improving national finances.

The NAPD is also calling for a review of secondary school teachers contracts to reflect ongoing professional development and different teaching practices.

The group, which is holding its annual conference, says current contracts are outdated and basic.

The association's director Clive Byrne says it's in everyone's interest to have contracts that acknowledge the teachers work and responsibilities.
