President Michael D Higgins will be honoured in Clonmel this afternoon where he is to be made a Freeman of the Borough.
This is the highest honour which can be bestowed by the Borough Council.
Mayor of Clonmel Darren Ryan will preside over this afternoon’s ceremony in the Council Chamber of Clonmel Borough Council.
President Higgins is due to arrive at the Town Hall at around 1.30pm.
