A minute's silence was observed in France earlier this morning, for those killed when a truck drove into a crowd at a Bastille Day fireworks display.

As France enters its third day of mourning, EU Foreign Ministers are meeting in Brussels to discuss the killings.

Speaking at the opening of a book of condolence in Dublin, President Michael D Higgins said religion is not an excuse for murder.
