Tipperary's 2 Junior Ministers could find themselves in the departmental driving seat in the New Year.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny is expected to reshuffle the cabinet next year and has promised promotion to some Ministers of State and backbenchers.
For months now Enda Kenny's been signalling a reshuffle and that it would happen in 2014.
With the nomination of a European commissioner and the local and European elections to get out of the way Enda Kenny's conceded the changes will happen in the second half of next year.
And he says there's an array of talent within the Government parties and that he wants to make use of that:
But he also hinted that some other ministers might also be moved to make way for new blood
Here in Tipperary there has been a strong history of Senior Ministers such as Michael Smith, Michael Lowry and Noel Davern – and given The Taoiseach's comments the county's two junior Ministers could be taking up new roles.
For his part Labour's Alan Kelly believes a senior ministry here would be of huge benefit to Tipperary but accepts not every constituency can have one
While his Fine Gael Counterpart – Junior Agriculture Minister Tom Hayes – who was only appointed to the role six months ago – admits promotion would be nice – but his focus is on his current portfolio.
