Michael D Higgins office has confirmed that a trip to Cahir could take place once work on the historic abbey is complete.
18 months of work on the 13th century site by the tidy towns group along with the TúS scheme have transformed the abbey.
Chairman of the group and local election candidate Andy Moloney is hopeful that the President could visit a number of other local tourist attractions such as the Swiss Cottage, Cahir Castle and the Mitchelstown Caves.
