The general public are fed up of the ongoing row over Dáil speaking rights according to a local County Councillor.

On Tipp Today yesterday Deputy Mattie McGrath – who is a member of the Regional Independent Group – accused Sinn Féin of disrupting the Dáil on phoney issues.

However Tipp Town based Sinn Féin representative Annemarie Ryan says any disruption to proceedings in Leinster House is to the Mattie McGrath and his colleagues.

She told Tipp Today earlier that the group led by Michael Lowry can’t have their cake and eat it.

“In my opinion and in the majority of peoples opinion they are still in Government. You can’t just come along and decide that you’re in opposition and in Government at the same time.

“So look I think it’s a worn out conversation at this stage but you know Sinn Féin and the other opposition – the actual real opposition – are very irate over this and I am too. Even speaking to ordinary people on the street it comes up quite a lot and they’re going you’re either in Government or you’re not.”
