First time Fianna Fáil TD Ryan O’Meara says he has no concerns that fellow Tipperary North representative Michael Lowry will take the limelight during the course of the current government.
The Cloughjordan based politician took part in the special Fianna Fáil Ard Fheis which ratified the Programme for Government last night in Dublin
Michael Lowry meanwhile led the talks with Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin and Fine Gael leader Simon Harris on behalf of the Regional Independent group which led to the agreement on the programme for government.
On Tipp Today earlier Ryan O’Meara said his track record over the next five years is what matters.
“You do the work and you stand on your own merits and deliver on key issues – both for North Tipperary but also nationally. And that’s always the balance I think with a national politician is that you have to deliver for your home area – you have to, you have to do the work.
“So for me I’m not going to be distracted I suppose by individuals in politics. I’m not going to be entirely focused on always being the one that’s seen to be the absolute deliverer for North Tipperary. What I want people to see is that I’m a hard working individual, I’m passionate about this job and I’m going to work every day to deliver for them.”
