Tipperary North’s new TD says it was a surreal experience to walk into the Dáil Chamber as a TD this week.
Ryan O’Meara won the last seat in the constituency just six month after being elected to the County Council.
He’s very familiar with Leinster House after working for the last five years as Jackie Cahill’s Parliamentary Assistant.
But only TD’s are allowed into the Chamber itself – so that was a new experience that Deputy O’Meara says he enjoyed immensely.
Deputy O’Meara says it will be good news for Tipperary if his party goes into coalition with Michael Lowry’s Regional Group.
It’s expected that the technical group will form part of the new government with Fianna Fail and Fine Gael after Verona Murphy was elected as Ceann Comhairle following her nomination by Deputy Lowry.
Ryan O’Meara says he’d be happy to work with his constituency colleague for the benefit of the county.
