Lowry speaking rights to be discussed by Dáil reform committee

The Dáil reform committee will meet later to discuss the thorny issue of speaking time.

The Government is to table a proposal about speaking rights for Michael Lowry’s Regional Independents.

Opposition parties fear the Government will try to carve out more speaking time for itself or reduce opposition speaking rights.

The row led to the Dáil being adjourned three times last week and delayed the election of Micheál Martin as Taoiseach.
