The Government is being accused of trying to undermine the role of the opposition.

It’s after opposition parties withdrew from voting pairs procedures, in the ongoing Dáil speaking rights row.

There are plans for a vote next week on allowing speaking time to Independents including Tipperary TDs Michael Lowry and Mattie McGrath who back the government.

Sinn Fein TD Donnchadh Ó’Laoghaire says parties not in government need to make a stand.
