Bord na Mona redundancy packages raised in Dail

The Tánaiste’s confirmed that calls for the Littleton Bord na Mona redundancy deal to be renegotiated, will be discussed by her cabinet colleagues.

Its one of a number of concerns raised by staff and their union representatives in light of the announced closure of the Mid Tipp plant next April with the loss of 69 jobs.

A further 56 are in doubt.

The issue was raised with the Energy Minister yesterday and speaking during Leaders Questions in the Dail Independent TD Michael Lowry sought further clarification.

Tánaiste Francis Fitzgerald says the matter will be looked at by her cabinet colleagues.
