Improvement works on the N65 at Lahinch, Lorrha would have led to its closure from November 3rd to December 31st.
Concerns had been expressed by a number of Galway County Councillors in the Loughrea Municipal District this week over the impact the closure would have on what is one of the main routes into the west of Ireland.

Tipperary County Council has confirmed that following a consultation period the closure has been deferred until 2015.
