DunoAir are proposing a development of 8 turbines in all in the Ahenny area near the Tipp – Kilkenny border.
There has already been strong local opposition to the project when the idea was first put forward last year.
The company behind the windfarm project – DunoAir – vowed to engage with local residents and said the windfarm would provide local jobs in both construction and operation.
They held open days and sent letters to local residents when the plans first came to light 12 months ago.
Site notices have been erected at Newtown Wood and The Gap for the development at Carrigadoon and Curraghdobbin Hills.
Three of the turbines – which would have a maximum height of 126.5 metres – would be on Curraghdobbin with five to be located on Carrigadoon.
A decision is due from Tipperary County Councils planning department in early September.
Local residents in Ahenny and surrounding areas vowed to fight the plans when they first surface saying the community has nothing to gain from the windfarm development.
